National Mathematics Competition XV 2020

ABOUT THE EVENT
Maths or Mad?
The upcoming 15th UTAR National Mathematics Competition will be jointly organized by the Mathematics Society and the Centre of Mathematical Sciences. During the competition, an exhibition will be held to introduce different ways of solving real life Mathematics problems.
Date : 4th July 2020 (Saturday)
Time : 8.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
Venue : KB Block, UTAR Sungai Long Campus.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
No refund under any circumstances EXCEPT event cancellation and postponement

The competition is divided into three categories.
i) Theory of Everything (multiple choice questions)
ii) The Running Maths (fast Mathematics)
iii) The Mathketeers (group-based questions). ​

All undergraduate and pre-university students are welcomed to join us !

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Mathematics Society was established on 2nd June 2003 and is a non course-based society that caters for students interested in Mathematics. The UTAR Mathematics Society is currently located in the Sungai Long City Campus.

This category consists of 100 subjective questions consisting of simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). The category duration is 20 minutes. The competition will be computer-based. Calculator is not allowed in this category. Papers and pencils will be provided (for calculation purposes). The participant who answers the most number of questions correctly with the shortest time will be declared as the winner.

Each group consists of 3 members. This category consists of 9 subjective questions. The category duration is 60 minutes. Competition will be paper-based. Calculators might be needed to obtain questions with decimal answers. Papers and pencil will be provided.
